Impedance Cardiography (ICG) Special Heart Test
ICG is being used by leading heart specialists around the world to help assess, diagnose and treat patients with heart failure, shortness of breath, fatigue, high blood pressure and high cholesterol .It gives us the necessary early warning indicators of cardiac arrest before it occurs!
In a physicians office the ICG equipment can perform both a EKG and an ICG. The EKG measures the electrical functions of the heart. The ICG measures the mechanical functions of the heart and provides different information then an EKG.
The ICG test provides a physician with some of the same data that is only available through receiving a right-heart catheterization which is usually done in the operating room or intensive care area of a hospital. The ICG gives us all the information we need to assess the condition of the heart and helps us to outline the best program to help your heart become strong and healthy again.
